The Vladimir Filanovski oil, gas and condensate field is in the Caspian Sea, 160 kilometres southeast of the city of Astrakhan. It was discovered in 2005 and is one of the largest finds in Russia of the past 30 years. Vladimir Filanovski is a priority project for LUKOIL, which has refocused operations to the Caspian Sea since the mid-2000s.
