Talos announced the acquisition of QuarterNorth Energy for US$1.29 billion. The Independent will finance the deal through a combination of cash and equity. Talos's acquisition of QuarterNorth is a logical move and will cement its position as a top producer in the US Gulf of Mexico. Talos will move up the ranks to the seventh highest producer in the region with 120,000 boe/d.
