Better late than never. Eight years after FID. Two years after it arrived in Australia, and US$17 billion later, Shell's Prelude FLNG vessel has finally shipped its first LNG cargo. The first commercial LNG shipment from the world's largest FLNG facility marks the end of Australia's LNG investment boom, putting the country on the map as the world's largest LNG exporter. For Shell and partners INPEX, KOGAS and CPC, focus will now switch to how fast the project delivers its second and third cargo, before ramping up to an expected plateau output of 3.6 mmtpa.
