The Shearwater Area includes the Baroli, Fram, Merganser, Scoter, Shearwater and Starling gas fields.Shearwater is a high pressure, high temperature (HP/HT) gas condensate field located seven kilometres to the east of the Elgin and Franklin fields. It has been developed with a PUQ (production, utilities and quarters) platform, bridge-linked to a satellite wellhead platform.The Merganser, Scoter and Starling fields were developed as subsea tie-backs to the Shearwater facilities.
