Qatar is one of the world's top exporters of liquefied natural gas (LNG), alongside Australia and the US. It exported 79 mmtpa in 2024. It is also one of the world's leading oil and gas producers with an output of 5 million boe/d in 2024, with over two thirds of this being gas.The country's major asset is the offshore North Field, the world's largest gas field.
