OML 30 is a large onshore block in the western Niger Delta, 20 kilometres east of Warri. It is one of the biggest in the delta in terms of remaining reserves. The block has nine fields, which have been producing for over 50 years. Although the reservoirs are high quality, the existence of heavy, viscous oil requires gas-lift and electric submersible pumps.
