Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) is the only company engaged in oil and gas exploration and production in Serbia. It operates a large portfolio of onshore fields, the majority of which are mature. NIS is currently 56%-owned by Gazpromneft (Russia) and 30% by the Serbian state. In 2023, NIS reported domestic liquids and gas production of approximately 23,000 boe/d.
