Harmattan Deep is a shallow water gas-condensate field, situated in the offshore Nile Delta on the El Burg concession. The field was discovered by BG (now Shell) in 2012 and lies around three kilometres north of the town of Ras El Barr. The larger Notus discovery is situated approximately 20 kilometres northwest. It was discovered in 2014 and is a high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) field. Development plans for Notus have stalled, and we consider it a contingent resource. BG proposed an ...
