Block 17 is a deepwater block in the Lower Congo Basin, 130 kilometres offshore Angola. There are four production hubs, each based around a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO). The giant Girassol (meaning "sunflower" in Portuguese) field was TotalEnergies' first commercial discovery on Block 17 and was the first to be developed.
