Asia-Pacific is a huge region, and as such has always had a diverse and busy M&A marketplace, full of opportunities from the very small through to the very large. 2024 has already got off to a strong start, with TotalEnergies acquiring SapuraOMV in Malaysia, Japan's JERA buying 15.1% of Woodside's Scarborough, and TotalEnergies divesting Brunei Block B to Hibiscus. Here we present a snapshot of assets - with a total value of over US$10 billion - which are either already up for sale or rumoured to be in the near-future. These fields lie across Southeast Asia and Australasia and range from mature oil developments through to large pre-FID gas fields.
