Our report gives you all the background you need on Saudi’s oil industry so that you can understand the impact of the attacks.

Read our report to understand:

  • Oil production forecasts out to 2030 and a closer look at Saudi Arabia’ gas ambitions
  • The role of OPEC

The attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil and gas sector at Abqaiq and Khurais in September 2019 resulted in the short-term loss of 5.7 million b/d of oil production. Domestic gas production was also impacted. The Abqaiq facility processes oil from the world's largest oil field at Ghawar, plus other major fields such as Shaybah. We have updated our Saudi Arabia upstream summary slides, providing an overview of the key upstream trends in the country, including key infrastructure, production and the role of hydrocarbons in the energy sector.
