The mine processed accumulated stockpiles of low grade oxide material from the nearby Muruntau deposit, which has been mined over the past 25 years. Dump material was purchased by Zarafshan from the Navoi Combinat, sourced from four different zones of the stockpiles. Following the effective nationalisation of the operation in 2006; production and cost data has not been available. Forecasts from 2006 onwards are based on Wood Mackenzie assumptions...
