Two opposing forces are influencing nickel prices at present. The bears are looking at the poor economic outlook and the latest disruption in China due to resurgent Covid. In contrast, the bulls are focused on the compelling nickel-for-battery story and the strong non-exchange markets for nickel intermediates and chemicals in China. The bulls carried more weight in November and this may continue in the weeks ahead.
