
Xizhou Zhou is the Global Head of Power and Renewables at Wood Mackenzie, responsible for the strategic vision, commercial growth, and operational excellence of the Power & Renewables business segment. His leadership is underpinned by two decades of deep industry knowledge, spanning electric power and clean energy markets, with expertise in research and forecasting, asset valuation, market design, policy analysis, and business strategy.
By leveraging Wood Mackenzie’s comprehensive power and renewables capabilities, combined with interconnected data and research across the broader energy and natural resources sector, Xizhou and his team provide world-class, integrated solutions to help customers with strategic planning, capital allocation, power trading and energy management, as well as supply chain optimization and procurement.
Before joining Wood Mackenzie in 2024, Xizhou was Vice President at S&P Global Commodity Insights, where he successfully led the integration of the power and renewables practices following the IHS Markit merger. Before the merger, he spearheaded the strategic expansion of IHS Markit's research and consulting presence in Asia, establishing new teams in Beijing, Brisbane, Delhi, Penang, Seoul, Singapore, and Tokyo, driving significant growth of the firm’s gas, power, and renewables business in the region.
Xizhou's career also includes positions at Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA), Industrial Economics, Inc., and the World Resources Institute. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Environmental Management, both from Yale University. He is based in Washington, D.C.
