Ali is a macro-scale electricity system modeler with a background in operations research. His work centres on power market optimisation, integrating renewable resources and investment planning for energy systems. He has over four years of experience in both academia and industry, designing decision-support models that address complex energy challenges.
Ali joined Wood Mackenzie in 2022 and currently leads the market intelligence (EMEA) team, where he focuses on developing models and analysing European short-term power markets. Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie, Ali conducted research at ETH University, developing stochastic trading strategy models for a portfolio of renewable resources.
