The global push for decarbonisation is reshaping the transport sector, with biofuels at the forefront of this transformation. For logistics companies, this shift presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities that span policy, investment, feedstock management, and international trade.

1. Policy support is driving growth 

Government policies are playing a crucial role in shaping the renewable transport fuels market. Across the globe, we're seeing a surge in supportive legislation.  

Across Asia, several countries are ramping up their efforts in the biofuel sector. Malaysia, Indonesia, and India, for instance, are pushing for higher ethanol and biodiesel blends in their fuel mix. They're also starting to look into policies for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).  

Meanwhile, the European Union is taking bold steps with its revised Renewable Energy Directive (RED III) and the ReFuelEU initiative, setting ambitious targets for the continent.  

Over in North America, the United States continues to rely on its Renewable Fuel Standard, while Canada has introduced Clean Fuel Regulations. These policies are paving the way for significant growth in the biofuel industry throughout the 2020s.
