      • Ross leads Wood Mackenzie’s Norway upstream research team, where he is responsible for delivering Wood Mackenzie’s Norway and wider European research offerings. Ross has 10 years of experience in Upstream oil and gas and has undertaken a wide range of research and consulting assignments during his time at Wood Mackenzie.  Since joining Wood Mackenzie, Ross has also covered the Middle East, North Africa and South East Asia regions. This has involved extensive travel and with his insight he has contributed to numerous research and consulting projects. Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie, Ross was an auditor at Deloitte, working with upstream clients. Ross graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an Honours degree in Business and Accountancy.

      • Douglas is a Research Director and Manager for Wood Mackenzie’s Global Oil Supply Team. He is responsible for coordinating Wood Mackenzie’s oil supply forecasting work. Since joining Wood Mackenzie in 2005, Douglas has covered analysis of most regions: Latin America, Africa, Asia Pacific, Russia and the Caspian, the Middle East and parts of North America. Within his role, Douglas leads a team that draws on the full upstream staff of Wood Mackenzie to develop the production and capacity outlook for both short and long term supply trends. Within his time in the team, Douglas has also led analysis of global decline rates, global breakeven cost curves, supply outages and participated in the Wood Mackenzie Future of Shale Oil Multi-Client offering. Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie Douglas spent almost three years at Reuters Research Ltd as a financial data analyst/team leader. Douglas graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a BCom (Hons) in Business Studies and Accounting.

      • Stephen is the research director for global gas supply in Wood Mackenzie’s cross commodity analytics team. Stephen plays a key role in defining Wood Mackenzie’s global gas base case. For the last 10 years Stephen has been responsible for developing Wood Mackenzie’s view of European gas supply dynamics; the interaction of domestic production, pipe and LNG imports and the impact on European and global gas prices. Stephen has led numerous consulting projects while at Wood Mackenzie - advising NOCs, IOCs and European Utilities on global gas and pricing dynamics. These projects have had Wood Mackenzie’s Global Gas Model at their core. Stephen is now responsible for the development of Wood Mackenzie’s next generation of gas model. Stephen joined Wood Mackenzie in 1997 and holds a Masters in Business Studies from University College Dublin.

    • The energy transition of the oil and gas sector: does it make sense?

      • Valentina joined Wood Mackenzie 15 years ago and is a Director at Wood Mackenzie’s Corporate Research Group. Valentina has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas and coal sectors. She is an expert on the energy transition of the oil and gas sector into clean energies. Valentina delivers strategic, operational and financial research and analysis of global integrated energy companies, with particular focus on European and Russian O&G Majors. Valentina’s other roles in Wood Mackenzie included project-management and delivery of multi-client studies and development and growth of new products and services. She advises senior leadership, both on corporate and country levels and is a regular speaker at industry events. Valentina is a non-executive director on the board of NHST Global Media (Norway). Previously, Valentina worked as a Petroleum Engineer with Edinburgh Petroleum Services Ltd and Research Fellow in the Energy Group at the University of Edinburgh. She holds a BEng Honours Degree in Engineering from the University of Edinburgh, MSc in Advanced Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London, a PhD in Clean Coal Technology from the University of Edinburgh and an MBA (Finance) from Durham University. Valentina is a Chartered Engineer (MIMechE C.Eng).

    • What North Sea upstream strategies will win?

      • Neivan has worked in the North Sea Upstream Research team since 2014. In that time, he has written insights looking at a number of key issues in the sector, from the economics of the south-east Barents Sea, to the corporate response to the drop in oil price and the impact of private equity in the region. Neivan also carries out consulting projects and presents at conferences. Recent consulting work includes helping companies with long-term strategies, due diligence and project benchmarking. Prior to joining the Norway Upstream Research team, Neivan worked as an analyst at Interconnector UK carrying out a variety of commercial and regulatory work. Neivan graduated with a Masters degree in Chemical and Process Engineering from Strathclyde University.
